Alejandra Artiel was born on November 27th in Ceuta, Spain. At the age of 8, she moved to El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz, Spain), where she began her musical training by studying classical piano at the Rafael Taboada Conservatory, later continuing her studies at the Royal Conservatory Manuel de Falla in Cádiz.
Years later, at the age of 22 and driven by her admiration for the music of Clifford Brown, she began studying trumpet while pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Cádiz.
In 2010, she moves to Groningen (The Netherlands) to continue with her engineering studies at Hanze University of Groningen, it allowed her to meet the jazz scene in the city and attend in some masterclasses at the Prince Claus Conservatoire.

The following year, she moves to Amsterdam to start her jazz bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2014, she settled in Donostia–San Sebastián (Spain) to study jazz trumpet at Musikene (Higher School of Music of the Basque Country).
Her passion for music, specially jazz music, is due to her family. Her father plays Flamenco guitar and her mother is a great music lover, especially black music.

From a very young age, she has felt a deep fascination for big band music, especially the work of Thad Jones and Maria Schneider. This interest has led her to continue training in the field with mentors such as trombonist and composer Ed Partyka. Her passion for large jazz ensembles has also led her to perform with various big bands, most notably the Andalucía Big Band, which she joined in 2013 and with which she has performed on numerous stages and at festivals.
In addition to her work with big bands, she has been involved in a variety of ensembles spanning different musical styles, collaborating with a range of artists. She also leads her own trio, together with Nacho Soto and Martin Irigoras.

Another facet of her work is composition, particularly for film, with a special focus on the documentary genre. In 2020, she had the opportunity to collaborate with director César Déneken on several short films Recordar (2020), 'Vidas por escribir' (2020) or El tabique de las lamentaciones (2021).

Currently, she is fully dedicated to music creation, both in composition and arranging for bands, while continuing to forge her artistic path leading her own trio. She balances all of this with her other great passion: animals. After training in veterinary nursing, she continues to expand her knowledge through specialized veterinary courses, delving further into a field that has always sparked her interest.
